Hi Again! This week we’re doing a Snapshot into the world of photography and all of the wonderful things it opens up for your life. One of my favorite packages is the “Milestones Sessions.” And no, this isn’t related to the miles we go on our 4x4 trips, that’s a whole different package we’ll talk about as we get closer to summer!
This is a way for you to see growth changes. It’s like going back to your childhood neighborhood and seeing how big the trees got and wishing you could share with your kids how long the walk really was to school! If only you had pictures of you sludging through the snow…
All kidding aside, Milestones Sessions are about the first year of your babies life. Getting timeless pictures of each month or every three months of their first year has been one of the hottest things that parents come back to me and tell me they’re so grateful for.
Yes, you’ll get all sorts of pictures on your phone. The first tooth, the first roll over toward the dog toys-or the dogs tail, the first few steps. You’ll get all of those.
The beauty of the Milestones Sessions with me is that you have beautifully timed photos of just your baby. The sweetest moments of them resting, laughing, and even crying. No spit up stained onesies, or the cat crouching in the background ready to pounce on the waving soft rattle.
It’s wonderful to witness how your kiddo gets comfortable with me and the camera. We’ll share giggles and little connected moments in the 20-30 minute session that will continue to help them feel comfortable in the studio.
I even have clients who get yearly pictures done after this first year and their gratitude for the connections that are created with themselves and their kids in our photography sessions is heartwarming. Seeing your family grow year after year may seem like “one more thing to do,” and it is one more thing you’ll want to do.
Think back to when grandma passed away and how you looked through all the pictures she had in the photo book. The memories, the questions, and the joy of seeing the family at all stages.
Milestones Sessions capture all of this for you. And as your kids grow, they will too look at their own pictures and their eyes will light up with the discovery and excitement of seeing what they once looked like.
I also offer a “Grow With Me” package that includes outdoor or in-studio sessions starting with the last trimester, newborn, 6 months, and 1 year sessions.
I almost forgot about the 1 year session! You know how much I love photographing food. Well, cake and babies is just about the best. Balloons and confetti are often part of the session as well.
At the start of this I said I was going to talk about how photography opens up wonderful things for your life. Milestones Sessions and Grow With Me are one way you can document growth in your life. This is so valuable, the ability to reflect upon a time that had strong emotions, challenges that you couldn’t comprehend at the time, and joys that layer over and over each other until they all become a blur.
Photography’s greatest gift is holding these moments in time, making them timeless. So you can pass them on for generations, or just take those moments to look back and feel the emotions of the most precious moments.
