Inner MAP Project-Jamie Blackburn MA, E-RYT
“Live Your Truth” is a reminder Jamie sees in her mother's handwriting every day. This tattoo sits at the core of her coaching business based in Golden, CO.
Each one of us has this truth living inside of us. How we find it and how we share it is as unique as a snowflake. No one will ever be you. Even if someone does what you “do” the way you do it is still different than the other person.
This truth that is alive in each of us is what helped Jamie to heal her own life, and it’s what she offers to help bring out in the women she supports as a coach.
Inner MAP Project
What is the Inner MAP Project? MAP stands for: Mindful, Active, Present. These three components pulled together by one’s inner truth is how that truth is found, cultivated, and shared in the world.
How does Jamie do this?
It was a while back when Jamie worked as a counselor in schools. It was here that she found the value in supporting others with their challenges and found a passion for teaching others how to decrease anxiety. During that time she also studied and began teaching yoga.
Through both of these experiences, Jamie connected with others and their emotional processing both mentally and physically. Seeing yoga students deepen their connection to themselves as they explored their body and emotions in each posture, helped to cement how Jamie wanted to approach her coaching practice.
While working in schools and learning these wonderful tools to support others, Jamie was still operating from a place of high-expectations and stress. She was focused on everyone else.
To bring it all home, Jamie experienced multiple miscarriages, and found herself looking at how she wasn’t supporting herself to heal from this physical and emotional trauma. With her body, emotions, and mind depleted, Jamie began taking the tools she used to support others and apply them to herself on a deeper and deeper level until she was able to support her own healing.
Consistently returning to the Mindful, Active, and Present fundamentals that healed her, Jamie is able to recenter herself when she strays off her path.
This is what she shares with her clients. The fundamentals that she learned and still applies today.
Learning to Walk Into...
In 2019, Jamie recognized that while she was in a place to serve her fellow teachers and co-workers, she was able to create a more significant program for individuals on her own.
It was a hard decision to leave a stable environment with a steady paycheck for the creation of the Inner MAP Project. She knew that her own mental and emotional stability would benefit, and that would impact her clients as well.
The decision has definitely paid off on many levels. Jamie has continued to shape and mould her program to reflect her own healing journey. She has recently began to integrate her love for nature in her programs as a way to help others connect with their own true nature and find more calm in their day. And as she supports more and more women, she’s seeing what aspects of her journey are most effective for helping others.
It wasn’t about walking away, so much as it was walking into this new space. Since being here, Jamie has created group retreats, online programs, one-to-one sessions, as well as her recently launched podcast “Lessons from the MAP.”
Stepping into the life you want to create while taking care of yourself is a foundation for her coaching. Through Mindfulness, Activity, and Presence her clients learn to listen to their bodies, become more attuned to their inner compass, and fan the flames of their inner nature so that they feel less anxious and stressed.
These things bring her clients the peace that so many of us seek. It’s through being in nature that we hear this outside of ourselves, and thus doing the work IN nature, creates the harmony between inner and outer worlds.
Life in Harmony
The concept of living a life in harmony is different for everyone. Some people require the flourish of the city, while others the flourish of nature.
Jamie finds harmony in working with others, and getting outside daily. Connection seems to be a requirement for her.
Connecting with other people, and with her environment keeps her going at a solid pace. Both pieces feed her creativity which is why she’s able to move from individual coaching calls to podcasts without skipping a beat.
Other ways to raise the vibration of her work come from the awesomeness of coffee...Yes, this health enthusiast loves her coffee and dark chocolate. A beautiful reminder that life’s pleasures are important.
And as with some of our other WIB, those little hugs from her daughter are like plugging into an outlet of love and recalibration. Wiping the chocolate from her face I’m sure is smile inducing.
Jamie DID jokingly mention one of her biggest successes of 2020 was not sending her daughter to boarding school. I have to wonder if the chocolate was running low that day or if it was the rainy season and everyone was inside longer than normal!!
When massages and pedicures are a girls go-to guilty pleasure, 2020 wasn’t the most supportive in being able to fill that energetic cup. Getting a massage from an 8 year old or your husband just isn’t the same as going somewhere.
It’s no wonder that Jamie is grateful that her family stayed intact through homeschooling and being self-employed with a new business.
“Live Your Truth” The daily reminder that keeps her heart focused on what matters most. And sharing it with the world.
